Purity and authenticity: what actually helps?
Why water tests, texture tests and impressive-looking percentages are only part of the picture.

The useful takeaway
Use traceable documentation and appropriate analysis. Appearance alone is not proof.
Different questions need different evidence
Identity asks what a material is. Purity asks what else is present. Safety considers exposure and suitability. Potency concerns an amount of a constituent or a demonstrated effect. These terms often appear together on packaging, but one test rarely answers all four.
Why home demonstrations are limited
A material changing texture in your hand or dispersing in water can be interesting to watch. It is not a validated identification procedure and does not measure lead, microbes or pesticide residues. Never use burning or tasting an unknown substance as a safety test.
Build a chain of information
Look for the supplier's identity, a product specification, a batch reference and a complete analysis. Ask what was tested on the finished product versus an ingredient before manufacturing. A resin result should not automatically be assigned to a honey blend.
Percentages need methods
If a label advertises a fulvic-acid percentage, ask which analytical method was used and what sample it describes. The numerical result cannot be meaningfully ranked against another product when the measurement basis is unknown.
What our archive contributes
The linked 2024 report gives specific chemistry and microbiology results for a named resin sample. It does not supply a current Himalayan Life batch match or a clinical efficacy result. Its value is the detail readers can inspect, not the size of a certification badge.
A better decision
Choose information you can verify over a dramatic demonstration. If documentation is incomplete, name the missing item and ask for it. Uncertainty is more useful when it is specific.
