DBPs and authenticity: one marker is not the whole answer
How to read a chemical-marker claim without mistaking it for proof of origin.
8AM brand guide · Includes product recommendations
The useful takeaway
Ask whether a test can answer the exact authenticity question being asked.
Begin with the analytical question
Dibenzo-alpha-pyrones, often abbreviated DBPs, are discussed in shilajit chemistry. Detecting a constituent or reporting a total marker value is one analytical observation. It does not by itself explain the full composition or history of a sample.
Identity and origin are different claims
A method may be designed to quantify a substance without establishing whether every part of a product came from a claimed source. Before accepting an authenticity statement, ask what the method can distinguish and what reference materials were used.
Keep the complete report
A chromatogram or a large number removed from its method can create a false sense of certainty. Request sample identity, preparation, method details, reporting limits and the laboratory's actual interpretation. Do not infer more than the document says.

The BAV report linked here does not provide an Himalayan Life DBP identity profile. We have not imported another company's marker values into our product evidence. The right next step is a relevant, traceable analysis—not a borrowed graph or an invented comparison.
