How much shilajit should you take?

The useful takeaway

Use the directions on your actual product. Study doses are not a universal prescription.

Begin with the physical label

Check the serving size, recommended frequency and any maximum stated on the product you received. The jar in an editorial photograph is not a dosing instruction. If the label is unclear or incomplete, pause and ask for clarification before taking it.

A small amount is not an exact amount

A pea-sized portion changes with the spoon, temperature and person measuring it. Resin can also become softer or firmer with conditions. Use the product's specified measuring method. A household teaspoon is not a reliable way to measure a small milligram quantity.

Read study doses in context

Research uses particular purified or standardized preparations. A milligram amount from a paper is not automatically equivalent to the same mass of every resin or honey blend. The study population, formulation and treatment period belong beside the dose whenever it is discussed.

Check the amount inside a blend

A honey stick's total weight includes honey. Look for the declared shilajit quantity per serving and avoid adding multiple products simply because their serving formats look different.

Build consistency without escalation

Use a simple note of when you take the labeled serving and any unwanted effects. Do not increase the dose because you do not feel an immediate change, and do not double up after a missed serving unless the label specifically instructs you to. Persistent symptoms deserve professional assessment, not an escalating supplement routine.

When a conversation comes first

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, preparing for surgery or managing a health condition, discuss the actual product with a clinician. This guide deliberately does not select a personal dose for you.
